Americo "Mac" L. Traina
Mac Traina passed away at the age of 86, a lifelong
resident of Tampa. Mac was born and raised in Ybor City. He is
survived by his beloved wife: Felicia Traina; son: Dr. Joseph
Traina, M.D. and wife Attorney Jill Traina of Miami; three
daughters: Maria Bartolotti and husband Richard of Westchester,
PA., Loretta Campo and husband Manuel of Tampa, Attorney Cecilia
Feinberg and husband Gregory of Tampa; three brothers: Louis,
Ernest and James Traina, all of Tampa; two sisters: Elvira
Traina, and Lily Agliano of Tampa; sister in law: Maria Pasetti
of Tampa and three grandchildren: Maria Elise Campo of Tampa,
Gian and Anthony Americo Traina of Miami, and a host of nieces
and nephews. Mr. Traina was District Director for the State
Division of Hotels and Restaurants. He was a Parishioner and
Past Reader at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Past
President of the Optimist Club of Ybor City, the Seventh Alcalde
of Ybor City, and member of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Traina also worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America,
he was in the Inter- Social League, played baseball for the
Centro Asturiano and later served as President of the
Inter-Social League. He was a Lifelong member of the Italian
Club and was the first recipient of the Italian Club's Paolo
Longo Award.
